Oil paint affords an equal amount of flexibility and control. I've worked in oil since 1962 mainly using the same number of colours and mixing on the palette. The slow drying quality of oil has always had an appeal. Here you can build on washes, move your paint across and around, manipulate the principle forms and emphasise the composition. Eventually you arrive at a point where to subtract would weaken, and to needlessly add would confuse.
